Sweet Sonnet Samples
The below was crafted for pleasure with a specific Bride in mind: (Hello Laura !!)
Monday's Bride is fair of face and smiles a-glow,
Just seven months ahead before the aisle!
Has she chosen her dress? The style to show
All her very best features to beguile?
Full of dreams for the day which lies ahead,
Her plans fill her days and some sleepless nights.
She goes to sleep happy but wakes with dread,
Failed seating plans and mislaid fairy lights!
With so much arranging will she find rest?
Then suddenly comes a sense of great calm
As decisions are made she knows her best
And bold intentions are working a charm.
Moving into month six the countdown's here!
As our Bride ticks lists, she is in gear!
Let's take a look at Tuesday's Bride!
Tuesday's Bride is full of grace and hope.
Just six months to go before the sweet aisle,
She carefully plans so that she can cope
With that collapsing time-frame and still smile!
Will bridesmaid's shoes arrive and dresses fit?
Is the DJ right? Will the food taste good?
What has she forgotten amongst the kit,
Amongst all the requirements, she sweats blood!
But think, what is the worst that can happen?
What if the DJ sucks and bread is stale?
Do these things mean that her love will dampen?
Focus on the importance and exhale,
Because all that matters is the shared love
And knowing this she thanks bright stars above.
And Wednesday's Bride (it's the same lovely girl!)
Wednesday's Bride is full of woe and angst.
Just five months to go before their Big Day
She puts money aside or pays with thanks
All those people who will help pave the way
In creating her dream since she was young.
But right now it's bills she must settle,
Working overtime, she feels highly strung
And sometimes she snaps and stings like nettle.
'What does it matter?' She suddenly thinks
What is perfect for her, is not for some.
She cannot please all, and clarity sinks
Through the hustle and bustle of brain-hum.
Let's take a breath, let's enjoy all these days
And towards that Big Day she turns her gaze.
Thursday's Bride...
Thursday's Bride has far to go; she feels it!
Just four months to go before love a-vows,
As tasks are completed she must admit
She yearns to feel progress if time allows,
But then something else seems to need doing!
She stands in solitude and looks beyond
Herself, and to those Bridesmaids a-cooing,
And asks them now to bring that special bond.
As Wedding-Eve descends, she's not alone!
Why has she felt so in the months before?
And with her Maids she lifts plans, stone-by-stone.
As she does so, she finds her tranquil shore.
For what is a wedding if not for all
In trusted love who help prepare the Ball?
Friday's Bride's Sonnet...
Friday's Bride is so loving and giving.
Just three months to go before true loves smiles
For Others, in that day she is living
And for Dear Ones she goes extra miles.
The bridesmaids are happy, the in-laws too!
She carefully councils parents each step
Knowing that family ties act like glue.
Their grins and excitement give her a pep!
But her partner for life looks from a-side
With growing concern should she lose herself
In pleasing others, has she found a hide?
Is what she wanted now lost on a shelf?
In those last few weeks where are they both now?
After 'The Day' they must find their own 'How'.
SATURDAY'S GROOM (do you recognise anyone in these words?)
Saturday's Groom must work hard for his living
Two months to go before greeting his wife,
The labour drives his bride, and he's giving
Both space and support, he's so full of pride
For pipe-dreams still now materialised
Into dresses and suits and rooms so grand,
As over months dreams have now galvanised
For a day more beautiful than subtly planned.
Then his mind a-clouds; Oh! What of his part?
Will his speech be warm and full of his love?
Will words in mind flow through pen straight from heart
Or audience stare to heavens above?
Through nervous eyes he sees his bride a-glows,
For her love, he'll do anything he knows.
Sundays Couple coming soon...
How the speech started out and how we helped.
Coming soon, you may not believe the difference between the Father of the Bride's starting point and the finishing point we helped him get to!
